Meet Our Staff
Pastor Dave Lee
Lead Pastor
Pastor Dave (referred by many simply as “PD”) has been at Harvest since its founding in 1995. He continues to marvel at God’s faithfulness to Harvest over the years. Pastor Dave gets fired up by seeing people have transforming encounters with Jesus that lead them to give more of themselves to God and the people He loves. Pastor Dave is married to Jeannie and is the proud father four great kids: Noah, Jordan, Elijah, and Zoe. He loves playing football, basketball, golf (though his passion far exceeds his skill), and tennis. He and Jeannie enjoy renting movies, love watching 24 and King of Queens on television, and treasure every opportunity to spend time doing fun stuff with their kids. PD is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Biblical Theological Seminary, and the Arrow Leadership Program. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC.
Pastor Frank Piszczor
Pastor of Community Groups
Pastor Frank (affectionately known to most Harvesters as PoFo) joined the Harvest staff in October 2005 as our Pastor of Community Groups. It’s a position that fits him well because he loves to be around people and is deeply committed to seeing the church becoming a true community. His desire is to see people become honest and devoted followers of Christ, especially through the community group experience. Pastor Frank is married to Hannah and father to Christina, Timothy, Daniel, and Chaeli (whom they recently adopted from China). Pastor Frank graduated from the Moody Bible Institute and went on to serve on the pastoral staff of Grace Baptist Church in Glenview, IL for 10 years. During a sabbatical he also received an MRE degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Pastor Matt Swain
Pastor of Outreach Ministries
Pastor Matt joined the Harvest staff in August 2007 as the Pastor of Outreach Ministries. One of his greatest ministry passions is to call the church to remember that ministry is not a one-time event or church activity, but it is a way of life where those who refer to themselves as Christians seek to follow in the footsteps of Christ each day. Matt and his wife Lori spent seven years doing cross-cultural ministry in the university town of Santiago de Compostela in the northwestern corner of Spain. All three of their daughters, Abigail, Isabel and Eden, were born in Spain. In his free time Matt enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies and playing video games as well as writing music, painting and writing on his blog. He is a graduate of Geneva College and spent 2 years in youth ministry at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, Ohio prior to working in Spain.
Jeannie Lee
Director of SEEDS Ministry
Jeannie has been a part of Harvest since its inception in 1995. She is married to Pastor Dave and is the proud mother of their four children. Her love for and experience with children as a mother has helped her dive into her role as Director of the SEEDS Children’s Ministry, a position she has held since Spring 2008. In this role, she oversees a thriving ministry that seeks to sow God’s word into the hearts of our ever-growing population of little ones. Jeannie partners with a small army of volunteers who work hard every week to make SEEDS a fun place for the children of Harvest to meet Jesus and grow spiritually. Jeannie graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in civil engineering. She enjoys stamping, scrapbooking, and golf (the one time each year she gets to play). She is also well-known for her prowess in bridal and baby shower games.
Bobby Oommen
Staff Intern :: Praise Team
Bobby was born in the state of Kerala in south India and came to the States when he was just over a year old. His family has lived in the Chicago area ever since. Bobby grew up in the Mar Thoma church that traces its roots to the apostle Thomas who brought the gospel to India and is part of the Syrian Orthodox tradition. Bobby joined the staff of Harvest in October 2006 as a pastoral intern leading our Praise Team. In addition to his musical gifts, Bobby is passionate about the Bible and preaching that helps people to see the relevance of Scripture in their everyday lives. Bobby aspires someday to enter pastoral ministry full-time. In addition to his responsibilities at Harvest, Bobby teaches sixth graders full-time in the Chicago Public Schools. When he’s not working or doing ministry, Bobby enjoys playing his guitar, listening to music, and playing basketball. Bobby is married to Renee and they have a son, Micah. Bobby graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Information Systems and is currently pursuing an M.Div. at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Benson Chan
Staff Intern :: Pastor of Member Mobilization
Benson began attending Harvest in 2003 and came on staff in August 2007 as a pastoral intern. His title is Pastor of Member Mobilization and he will help us make membership at Harvest a more meaningful and active experience. Benson has a deep passion for God’s Word and seeing lives transformed through the teaching and application of the Scriptures. In his spare time, Benson enjoys watching and playing sports and daydreaming about doing great things for the Kingdom. Benson is happily married to Grace, who is definitely a most suitable helper for him. Benson graduated from the University of Rochester (NY) and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Columbia International University’s Seminary and School of Missions.
Jason Kim
Staff Intern :: Sojourners (College-aged) Ministry
Jason has attended Harvest since 2004 and came on staff in the Fall of 2006 as a pastoral intern overseeing our Sojourners ministry to college-aged people. Jason witnessed firsthand the amazing faithfulness of God during his own time as a college student, as God used those years to shape his identity and give him a great passion for this generation. It is Jason’s vision to see many young men and women make a God-sized impact in this world. In addition to his responsibilities at Harvest, Jason also works for the U.S. Army (416th Theater Encom) as a Budget Analyst. He is also a Finance Officer in the Army Reserve. God has really used his army experience to shape Jason into an effective leader. Jason graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.A. in Economics and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Worship and Spirituality at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Sunny Chung
Director of Communications and Multimedia Ministries
Sunny has attended Harvest since 2004 and joined the staff in September 2007 as the Director of Communications and Multimedia Ministries. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, NY earning a BFA in Communication Design with a concentration in Broadcast Motion Graphics. Between drawing, designing, filming movie projects, and developing an addiction to coffee, she found time in her leisure to chase Björk and experiment with hairstyles that now seem questionable. Prior to joining staff, she worked as a Graphic Designer for several years, but is very pleased knowing that she can now use her talents to build God’s kingdom in a more effective way. She’s also happily married to Charles, who she first met in the 2nd grade at church.
Susie Shin
Administrative Assistant
Susie has attended Harvest since the summer of 2001 and has been on staff since November 2005. Prior to joining the Harvest staff, Susie worked for the Korean Tourism Organization, an agency of the South Korean government dedicated to promoting tourism to Korea. Susie graduated from Purdue University in 2000 with a degree in primary education. She has been married to her husband Hans since 2002. Susie enjoys reading, running, art, history, and has a keen interest in the Kennedy family. Most days around lunchtime there’s a pretty good chance you can find her at the Nordstrom Café.
