Chris was born in Seoul, South Korea, but immigrated to the US when he was 12 years old. His family lived in Hawaii for about a year before coming to Chicago. When people find out that he lived in Hawaii, the typical question that people ask is, “Do you know how to surf and/or swim?” Unfortunately, he does not know how to do either, but he does know how to speak Korean.
Chris joined Harvest in 1996 with his wife Shin, who at the time was pregnant with their first child, Amanda. Since then, they also had another child, Michael. Since coming to Chicago in 1977, Chris spent most of his time living near the northwestern suburbs.
He graduated from Schaumburg High School, then got a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and earned an MBA from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL. Chris enjoys playing soccer and golf. Soccer helps him to keep in shape and golf helps him to be humble.
