Outreach Opportunities

In addition to serving on one of our ministry teams, there are numerous opportunities to serve Christ outside our church as well. Please review the list below and click on an email address to learn more about each opportunity.

Exodus World Service mobilizes the Christian community to welcome refugees. They do this by educating churches about refugee ministry, connecting volunteers with newly arriving refugees through practical service projects, and equipping leaders to advocate on behalf of refugees. GRIP is a ministry that exists to break the fatherless cycle among teenagers in Chicago’s inner city through Christ-centered, Life-on-Life relationships. GRIP connects these at-risk youth with adult Christian mentors through programs and initiatives to develop them spiritually, mentally and physically in their homes, schools and communities. Visit gripyouth.com or contact Pastor Dave at grip@harvest-community.org to learn more.

Kids Hope USA offers programs that create one-on-one mentoring relationships between adult church members and at-risk elementary school children in their community. In this One Child, One Hour, One Church, One School model, each church partners with one school, and mentors from the church spend one hour each week with their “one-and-only student” at the school. Visit kidshopeusa.org or contact Jeannie Lee at kidshope@harvest-community.org to learn more.

Refuge for Women is a national restorative after care program that offers a new beginning to women who have been sexually exploited and trafficked. Their faith-based, 3-phase, residential program has successfully brought healing and restoration to women since 2010.
