Education Complex and Community Center (Middle Section)
God has honored our commitment to nurture the faith of children and made Seeds Children’s Ministry one of the largest and most beloved ministries at Harvest. As a result, our kids participate weekly in a large worship service as well as numerous age-based groups led by dedicated volunteers. The high school we rent offers plenty of space for these Sunday school classes, but our building isn’t currently well-suited for such activities.
We’re excited to renovate the middle section of the Harvest Building to become our education area. We’ll build a gym to accommodate Seeds Sunday worship, in addition to classrooms, restrooms, and a reception/check-in station. While providing a welcoming and structured space to nurture our children’s faith and grow their community on Sundays, it will also be flexible enough for other uses by the congregation throughout the week.
The entire congregation will gather together at the building for only a fraction of the week, so we will develop this section for flexible use to make it a resource for our neighbors as well. We have already used our current section of the building fruitfully for community outreach, and this new space will enable us to create more opportunities for us to extend our reach.
Exterior Renovations
The current parking lot cannot accommodate our congregation for Sunday services, sometimes requiring people to park across Hassell Road, a busy street. We plan to nearly double the number of parking spaces to expand our capacity to safely host our congregation and guests. Additionally, the Village of Hoffman Estates has required that we increase these spaces to increase the occupancy limit of our building. We will also improve lighting and green spaces, and make limited renovations to the exterior of the building to bring it up to current code requirements.
