Outdoor Service Information

It’s hard to believe it has been over 15 months since we last worshipped together as a whole church in person. While many are not ready or able to rejoin in person services, we want to offer an outdoor service for those who are. Please be assured that our online services will continue uninterrupted. This option is for those who are looking for an in-person experience. Also, if you are gathering live for worship with a smaller group of people, please feel free to continue doing so if you have found that beneficial.

Access Materials for This Sunday’s Service

Where and when will the service be?

The services will take place on Sundays from 1:30-2:30 PM in the Ministry Center parking lot. Our Ministry Center is located in the Bright Hope Center at 2060 Stonington Ave. in Hoffman Estates. When you arrive, please park in the south end of the parking lot (see diagram below) or along Stonington Ave. We ask that you arrive by 1:20 to give you adequate time to park and get seated.

DO I need to register in advance?

Since space is limited we ask that you RSVP if you plan to attend so that we can prepare appropriately. This will also enable us to have attendance information for contact tracing purposes.

What should I bring?

An outdoor service is subject to the elements so please check the weather in advance and prepare appropriately. With cooler weather approaching we recommend bringing warmer clothes and blankets. Since the service takes place in early afternoon, you may want to bring umbrellas and sunglasses. In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather, we will send a text message announcement to all registered attendees.

Please bring seating for every member of your party with you. Seat yourself or your group 6 to 10 feet apart from the nearest party to maintain safe social distance.

Please bring your own masks. If you forget to bring a mask, we will provide you with one. We will provide touchless hand sanitizer stations on site. Please refrain from physical touch with those outside your family during greeting and fellowship time.

For safety reasons we will not offer any refreshments at the service. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages with you, but we ask that you do not share any food or drink with others.

What about my children?

We will not be offering supervised children’s ministry during our outdoor services. We encourage you to participate in the online children’s service via Zoom at 9:15 AM. For those who bring their children with them to the service, we ask that you keep your children with you during the entire service. We will have age-appropriate activity bags available to help keep them occupied. Please check in at the Welcome Table to obtain your activity bags.

can i use the restroom?

Restrooms will be available on the second floor of the Ministry Center. For safety and security reasons we ask that you check in at the Welcome Table if you need to use the restroom. A member of our team will let you into the building. Masks are required while inside the building, and we will limit the number of people who may enter at any one time. At least one parent must accompany any child(ren) when using the restroom.

Safety protocols

If you or any member of your household has a fever above 100°F or is exhibiting any cold- or flu-like symptoms, we ask that the entire family stay home. We will not be checking temperatures at the outdoor service so please err on the side of caution if you are feeling under the weather.

We ask that masks be worn during your time at the service. They may be removed temporarily during the sermon but will be required during all singing and when mingling with others.

If you or anyone in your household develops symptoms after attending the service, please schedule a test right away and contact us. We will guard your privacy but alert attendees of the possibility of exposure and update them once test results are confirmed. Adhering to this contact tracing protocol will help mitigate the spread of infection.
